A guide to the members of the BBC's team in Washington who will be contributing to the Obama diary during the new president's first 100 days.

Jonathan Beale is a correspondent at the BBC's Washington Bureau.
Before joining the team in Washington he reported for the BBC from Brussels and Westminster.
For our Obama diary, he will be focusing on the workings of the Justice department, in particular the new president's attempts to close the prison camp at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba.

Adam Brookes reports on defence and national security policy for the BBC in Washington, and he will be concentrating on these areas in his posts for our Obama diary.
Prior to his stint in the Washington Bureau, Adam was the BBC's man in Beijing. He has also reported from Afghanistan and Iraq.
He is keen to engage readers - particularly members of the defence policy community - in a conversation about President Obama's first 100 days.

Before coming to the BBC's Washington Bureau as a senior correspondent, Kevin Connolly was based in Ireland.
He has also reported for the BBC from Paris, Warsaw and Moscow, where he was on hand to witness the collapse of the USSR.
He will be focusing on the new administration's economic plans for our Obama diary.

James Coomarasamy was a BBC correspondent in Poland and Paris, and spent time reporting from Moscow, before arriving in Washington.
He is looking forward to commenting on developments in President Obama's domestic policy for the Obama diary.
In particular, he will focus on healthcare reform and energy policy.

Max Deveson is the BBC News Website's Washington reporter.
Before coming to Washington, he worked for the World section of the website.
He will be putting the diary together, rounding up the best commentary on the new administration from around the web, and posting up any particularly eye-catching pictures that he comes across.

Kim Ghattas is the BBC's State Department Correspondent, and will be commenting on foreign policy for the Obama diary. She will travel regularly with the Secretary of State.
She reported on the Middle East from 2000 to 2008, from her base in Beirut, and was part of the Emmy-award winning BBC team that covered the 2006 conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.

Rajini Vaidyanathan is the BBC World Service's Washington Reporter. Before coming to DC in 2008, she reported on politics for BBC Radio 1, winning a Young Journalist of the Year award in 2007 for her interviews with high profile politicians including Gordon Brown, David Cameron, Tony Blair and Al Gore.
For the Obama diary, she will be reporting on the administration's use of new media. She will also be covering the Obamas in the White House - how will the First Family cope with the transition?
